Ultimate Guide to Getting Unstuck

Hey, there luvs! Transparent moment; lately I’ve been feeling a little stuck. You know the feeling right? I was up late one night and I had an all-out aha moment. I’m not being intentional with my days. It’s not that I don’t know where I’m going but my actions are not matching the plan that I set out. I had to get real with myself. You are not living on purpose girl! Life is too damn short to not be living like today won’t be your last. There is literally no guarantee that you will wake up in the morning. I’m sorry to sound so morbid but like I said; Get real moment.I already have my plan but I was missing the basic systems that need to be in place and on schedule so that I can focus on my goal and remove the distractions. I set out to do just that and let me tell you. I’m back like I never left!

Evaluate your Space

Everything should have a purpose.Throw out everything that doesn’t. Some of the biggest culprits are old magazines, clothing not worn in at least a year, hair products, makeup.  Neuroscientists at Prince University completed a study that found when they looked at people’s task performance in an organized versus disorganized environment. The results of the study showed that clutter competes for your attention, resulting in decreased performance and increased stress.

I then set my sights on our home office. It’s important that you have an area dedicated to putting me in creative free space. So I made it look nice with fresh flowers and my favorite scents and lots of pink fur.

I put myself on a schedule for cleaning. I know longer wait for a mess to appear to clean I don’t even have to think about it. If it’s Thursday I know the bathroom is on the schedule etc. I got some great ideas from flylady.net (Check it out)

Get your Thoughts on Paper

I make it a habit of overthinking everything! It used to bother me but it’s who I am and I’ve come to terms with it. I have however learned how to manage over the years. I have a billion journals; no seriously they are everywhere. I’m not talking about the Dear diary I hate life, although if that’s what you want to talk about go for it!  I, however, use it to make lists about everything. It’s my to do list, to buy list, goal list, shit list, whatever’s on my mind that would be better on paper and out of my head. If you’re not comfortable putting pen to paper there are many apps available my favorite is Evernote, you can even passcode protect it.

Disconnect

The obvious here is disconnecting from social media. I don’t have to tell you the obvious traps of the plethora of fake perfect lives on there just begging you to see how much you don’t match up. It’s also more than that, you have to become intentional with what you consume. We operate with all our senses be careful what you watch on tv and even in the music you’re listening to and the conversations you partake in. It all seeps into the subconscious and has a way of affecting how you navigate throughout the day.

Take Care of You.

It’s so cliché but it’s so important. Taking care of me includes connecting myself spiritually with God. When I’m disconnected from I feel lost kinda like I’m just wandering around.  My second favorite self-care thing to do is deep condition my hair with a good book and a glass of wine. It doesn’t take much with me I love the simple things.
